Le 23 avril prochain dans une formule 5@7, nous accueillerons Michele O’Connor, ingénieure américaine à l’expertise impressionnante ayant contribué à la réalisation de ce projet de taille.

Cet événement sera pour vous l’occasion d’en découvrir plus sur un projet international d’envergure s’étant démarqué : le projet de rénovation de la « High Line » à New York. Ces anciennes voies ferroviaires aériennes du « Lower West Side » ont été redéveloppées de façon à y concevoir un parc linéaire urbain suspendu. Ce parc, connu comme étant le plus long toit vert du monde, accueille maintenant près de 5 millions de visiteurs chaque année et a grandement contribué à la revitalisation du quartier ainsi qu’à la régénérescence de la nature avoisinante.

Kennedy ou encore le Bronx Terminal Market, un réaménagement urbain de commerce de détail de 18 acres.

New York’s High Line: The world’s highest greenway

CREW M is delighted to invite you to an exceptional evening as part of its Women of Influence series. On April 23, in a relaxed cocktail setting, we will be welcoming Michele O’Connor, an american engineer with an impressive career who contributed to the development of this landmark project.

The event is an opportunity to learn more about a much-celebrated international project: the development of New York’s High Line. With increasingly fewer empty lots available for new construction projects, international real estate developers have been forced to be more creative.

These abandoned railroad tracks running through the Lower West Side were transformed into an elevated linear urban park. The park, known as the highest greenway in the world, today welcomes nearly 5 million visitors each year and has contributed significantly to the revitalization of the area as well as to the rejuvenation of the surrounding nature.

To learn all about the famous High Line, come and listen to Michele O’Connor, NY engineer and Principal at Langan (NY), and Co-director of the firm’s civil engineering practice in New York, and former CREW New York president. An expert in land development for large-scale urban projects, she has contributed to the realization of numerous innovative projects: the Hudson Park and Boulevard, a 4-acre public park located in the Hudson Yards district; the development of the TWA Flight Center Hotel at the JFK International Airport; and the Bronx Terminal Market, an 18-acre urban retail complex.
